Ah, imperfections, don't I know it...

I  can remember, like it was yesterday, the scars, new scars all over my young body. I was 18 when I was hit by two cars, one head-on. They were Drag Racing while me, my husband and our car just happened to get in their way. Shattered and broken, literally, it took me years to rise above those ugly scars. It took a hatefully long time for me not to zone in on those scars, every cotton pickin' time I looked in the mirror. 

Today, I find myself asking people about their scars. To me, I see them as a road map, a map that tells the story of where you've been and even where you're going. And in many cases, scars can be rather sexy!
